For some patients, a vertical wedge excision is also often needed to removed excess skin that runs across the abdomen. A lower body lift or circumfrential lift not only removes the abdominal excess skin, but can contour the hips, outer and posterior thighs and can lift the buttocks. Arms: Brachioplasty (arm lift surgery) is a technique to lift and tighten the skin of the arm. Thighs: A medial thigh lift will remove excess skin and fat at the inner aspects of the thighs, whereas a lower body lift addresses the outer and posterior portions of the thighs.",

This involves smaller incisions and a quicker recovery.\n\nMany patients having an abdominoplasty will combine this with other procedures, such as breast augmentation for a more dramatic body makeover.\n\nThe TULUA procedure offers potential advantages in terms of vascular safety, sensory recovery, position and quality of the umbilicus, and transverse scar location, with aesthetic outcomes that generally eliminate epigastric bulging. A sizeable patient population stands to benefit from this approach, especially when obesity, smoking, secondary revisions, umbilical or hypogastric hernias, and massive weight loss are clinical considerations for abdominoplasty.\n\nA novel approach to abdominoplasty: TULUA modifications (transverse plication, no undermining, full liposuction, neoumbilicoplasty, and low transverse abdominal scar).\n\nFollowing abdominoplasty, patients can expect some discomfort, swelling, and bruising.
